Keiichi Yabu Part 3

Yabu did an interview in front of the press. He is finally a part of the A's. His number is 13. I know it's not good number for American people. But according to him, he's had 13 as his number since he started playing baseball in elementary school.

Is this a coincidence? His number is 13. So that't why they decided to do interview January 13th? don't know...

Why did the GM Billy Beane decide to get him? It's because he saw one video. It's the opening game between the Yankees and Hanshin Tigers on 03/29/04. He was the 2nd pitcher. Even if he got one homerun, he got 5K in 3 innings. Also Assistant GM was playing Hanshin Tigers before. That time, of course he saw Yabu and know how he pitched. I think that's why Billy Beane decided to get him.

I know he WAS good pitcher. However he is already 36 years old. Maybe one point pitch is ok. However I doubt he can do starting pitcher's role well. So let's see.. The passing mark is 10 winning for 36 years old. Otherwise Beane made a wrong decision.



I saw this picture. He is wearing Sho Chiku Bai's jacket. Sho Chiku Bai is Japanese Sake and that's our competitor!!! Geee... we were outwitted!!! Our company is selling Ozeki sake. That was really good idea to sell their product.

I know maybe some people didn't realize this but we lost one big oppotunity.

Anyway.. Even if I doubt it, he is already IN A's. So i should say Congratulations and Welcome.
