    Inventory Day

Today is our company's inventory day. One day every quarter, I also help count inventory with the warehouse people, too.

Inventory is one of my work. I don't need to count actually. However I don't think it's a good idea if we only look at the documents because it's hard to visualize and you also want to see the way the people count the items and also know the process at how they arrive at the final number. So if we go to the scene and count inventory together, it's better to understand total picture. So that's why I help do the counting.

Plus I had a supermarket background, too. I used to check items in supermarket. So this work is almost same as inventory taking, too. It's not hard at all.

and believe it or not.. If you can count inventory well, you are qualified to do audit work. So if they didn't choose a job at the warehouse, they have ability to do audit I guess. Yeah..I am positive!! You know why? Simply said audit work's keywords are "are you sure?" and "doubt". If you have your innate character tends to believe too much, you are not qualified to be an auditor. Always keep in your mind "Are you sure?". When we are counting inventory, we often find open boxes. Whenever we found these boxes, we always check how many they have in the box even if it looks like a full box. Other case.. We tie 10 same items up by a string. Are you sure? We often find it's not 10 each because a string is missing. Whenever we found loose ones, we have to recount for these ones. So we don't have "looks like" in our dictionary. We have to make sure of everything. For my opinion, counting inventory is a good training for creating auditors' mind and character.
