AL Rookie of the Year
Bobby Crosby won 2004 AL Rookie of the Year.
Personally I don't like him because he is weak whenever A's had a break in a game. This should be next season's homework for him. But he still did well. Congratulations!
The market value of his Sacramento Rivercats card that I own will jump up,too.
Also with the Oakland A's Magazine where he is on the front cover page will too.
Anyway it's a good sign that he got Rookie of the Year because it means young players grew. A's has so many players with good potential capacities. A's used to be the highest salary team. However, after the owner changed in 1995, the team had to keep a low budget by order from the new owner. If they have money and reinforce the team by high salary good players such as the ones playing in the Yankees, it's easy to be strong. But if we look long-term span, it's not good for the team. For my point of view, there are signs of the impending downfall of Yankees. You know why? Basic reason.. Young players didn't grow. A's has good minor league system. They keep a lot of high potential players in minor league. So even if one player left from A's, they could bring young player from minor league up easily. It seems like same as outside world. For example, if the company headhunts an outside person, they might survive within short-term period. But that's it. If this person left, the company itself didn't change at all. The company's lifeline is how we can train person who is born and bred in this company. As long as the company raises the standard of employee, they will be able to survive even if they are under a difficult situation. Anyway Bobby Crosby is a good example. After Miguel Tejada left last season, A's brought him up from minor league. Then.. even if I don't like him, he still did well as a rookie. I hope he will play well next season and just don't make me disappointed whenever we will have a winning chance. Otherwise I will rush about wildly or break our TV... just kidding. :-)
