It's just off in one of the intersection along HW56 Kuhio Hwy...but actually far from Central Kilauea and behind of bunch of tropical trees. Funny thing is..whenever we drive North, I always somehow notice this place...I think it's maybe of the pink colored signboard along HW56. Also I've made this as a landmark that the Guava Kai Plantation turnoff is coming up on the road ahead.
We been wanting to try this place out but have been missing it all the time. On our last day in that area, we made it a point to really make a stop and try their shakes/smoothies out. Their billboard says they have the best smoothies in the island. The menu had 22 kinds of smoothies. Mainly their smoothies included Mango as evident on their business name. There were always a line of people ordering through the window, good sign that they may be really popular and that they really like their product. My wife and I ordered each a different kind of smoothy. She tried to stay away from the ones with coconut. Their smoothies are not too smooth.. they are chunky. But that's fine for me, it means they use real fruits instead of juices like others and the taste is more traditional. I really like it. I think others may feel same way, too. I am sure that's the reason it's very popular with locals and tourists alike.
On the left side of the store, there are at least 3~4 tables w/ shade. So you can rest while you sip your drinks and enjoy the tropical breeze, although there isn't much of a view to see.
Also they sold local fruits and vegetables, sandwiches, ..and also candy, chips, gum, newspaper..etc.
If you have a chance to visit Kauai and go to the North Shore, stop by Mango Mama's just as you see the pink sign on your right and try their smoothies. Its' all so good!
